About this role

Midas Business Solutions is looking for a remote Web Developer who can communicate confidently with clients and take ownership of website projects from requirements to launch.

You will design, build, customize, troubleshoot, and maintain business websites and online stores across platforms based on each client's needs. Strong WordPress, WooCommerce, and Elementor skills are required. Experience with platforms such as Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, or Webflow is an advantage, along with the willingness and ability to learn new tools.

Project requirements and complexity will vary. We value strong design judgment, practical coding skills, independent problem-solving, careful testing, and reliable delivery.

Excellent spoken and written English and a portfolio demonstrating your own work are mandatory.

What you will own

Responsibilities

 Role ownership
  • Understand client goals, clarify requirements, and agree on deliverables before development. Communicate clearly in English throughout the project.
  • Plan wireframes, navigation, and responsive layouts that support the client's business and provide a clear, usable experience.
  • Develop business websites, landing pages, and online stores using the platforms and tools appropriate to each client's requirements. Deliver consistent design and working functionality, and learn additional platforms as projects require.
  • Customize themes, child themes, templates, and Elementor widgets using HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript where needed. Understand and test your changes before handing them over.
  • Configure WooCommerce products, variations, payments, shipping, and checkout against agreed requirements. Test the purchasing journey safely before delivery.
  • Investigate functionality, compatibility, layout, and performance problems and deliver tested fixes. Maintain forms, on-page SEO, backups, and website updates using safe working practices.
  • Verify mobile and desktop layouts, forms, links, navigation, and purchasing journeys before handover. Provide clear documentation and instructions for the client.
  • Own deadlines, communicate progress and blockers, and learn unfamiliar tools when required. Resolve problems independently where possible and raise issues early when clarification or specialist support is needed.

  • Excellent spoken and written English is essential. Confidently lead client conversations, clarify requirements, understand feedback, and explain website decisions in clear language.
  • At least two years of hands-on web development experience, including freelance or client projects, supported by a portfolio showing your contribution.
  • Proven WordPress development experience, including website setup, themes, child themes, custom templates, plugins, and troubleshooting. Be able to deliver working websites rather than only update their content.
  • Strong Elementor skills, including responsive layouts, reusable templates, global styling, and practical custom widget development or customization.
  • Practical WooCommerce experience, including products, variations, store configuration, and testing the cart and checkout experience.
  • Good UI/UX judgment, demonstrated through wireframes, usable navigation, clear page hierarchy, typography, spacing, and responsive layouts.
  • Practical HTML and CSS skills, plus enough PHP and JavaScript to understand, adapt, implement, and debug scoped WordPress customizations safely.
  • A portfolio is mandatory. Provide accessible examples of websites or projects you personally worked on, with a clear explanation of your contribution.
  • Learn unfamiliar tools quickly, research solutions, evaluate your work, and act on feedback. Take responsibility for solving problems instead of simply following instructions.
  • Manage tasks and deadlines reliably, communicate progress and blockers, and check your work before delivery. Be prepared for project requirements and complexity to vary.
  • A reliable computer, stable internet, and a suitable setup for remote work and client calls.
  • Preferred experience with one or more of Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, or Webflow.
  • Preferred experience using Figma or a similar design tool, working directly with small-business clients, or connecting websites to forms, email tools, and other business services.
